Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
...I'm trying to upload some pics onto my photobucket account...they are .gifs, which according to photobucket is a valid file. But yet, I am still getting this message: *One or more pictures has an invalid format (jpg|gif|png|bmp|tif|swf)

Any ideas? This is really frustrating. Or...um...you can just tell me how to upload photos directly to my website, and I'll use em from there. Sorry, I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff.

Ok...nevermind already. I did something funky when I was saving the dumb thing...I know how to fix it now. But if someone could still tell me how to upload it directly to my website, I'd greatly appreciate it. :)

What software do you use to create your website? like Frontpage or something like that?

I haven't started using it yet, but I have Dreamweaver. Right now I'm just coding it all in notepad, then saving as .html, and uploading using FTP Voyager. I need to start learning to use Dreamweaver, I guess, don't I?

Ummm... yes... I think learning how to use dreamweaver would be a good idea, if you're going to use it to make your website.

I've never used Dreamweaver and have managed to just get by with Frontpage (yuk!). I assume that dreamweaver will give you folder options, where you can organise your webpage and all the images etc into folders - much like on your harddrive at the moment. So, if that's true, you could just make a folder called TPF or something like that and save your images in there and then just link them to here.

But I'm purely speculating here about how dreamweaver would work, and I'm probably completely wrong having never used it before!

 I'm about as useful as a penguin in a backpack!

I have FTP Voyager set up (or should I say, my boyfriend did it), and I know how to upload my coding and whatnot, but not sure how to upload a picture onto a page without it being already on the net somewhere. Right now I'm hotlinking from my photobucket. S'all good...I'm gonna start learning Dreamweaver in the next few days or so.

Just copy and paste the image on...lets say its in the same play as where your web site it..

to link the image simply type this code <img src="myimage.jpg"> or...to make the image a link <a href="bla.html"><img src="myimage.jpg"></a>

Hehe, back to my coding days...ahhhh....
All is easy Cory, ill be up late tonight as I cant see the point in going to bed, so maybe ill see yah online and help yah out!

Just think of your website as another folder on your computer (but it is technically on someone else's computer)...

To access the folder, you need to use the ftp program... So once you drag and drop the file across, it is sitting there... So if say you wanted to put it here, you would have
url]

and to put it on a page it would be <IMG SRC="yourphoto.jpg">

Make sense?
