If you are not that skilled or confident in PS and you wouldn't be able to fix it, maybe you could try to get someone else to fix at least one formal shot, so that her eye looks somewhat normal. It would give them a nice one to hang on the wall, and they wouldn't have to be reminded of how painful her eye looked that day, every time they looked at it. You would be a hero for doing that for them.

I honestly dont have the PS skills required to fix this. Plus as mentioned, it would probably bust their budget to find someone that can fix every shot she was in.

Fastest way is to do an elliptical selection on her good eye, flip the selection and paste it over the black eye.
