Hello, i have just got the best birthday pressie! A Nikon D80. The trouble is i have no idea how to use it properly! I feel like a rabbit in the headlights with it!! Any hints, tips, ideas would be very, very much appreciated

I'd recommend taking a class at the local community college. They're relatively inexpensive, you get to meet a lot of like minded people, and you learn more than just about your camera. You learn things like composition, lighting, history. The more you learn about something the more fun it becomes!

Also meet up with people in the area who are like minded! I'm based out of Michigan and I'm all over the state shooting all sorts of stuff and cycling all the time. I love to meet up at a trail with some guys, ride a loop or two then head out and shoot some photos. It's great fun.
