hello everyone, i am Jaival Parikh, having my own business. New to this forum as well as new to photography hobby. Saw many forums but found this forum to be interesting and informative. Currently I am having Nikon Coolpix, and planning to upgrade to Nikon D5100 or Canon 550D. So I need you suggestions what to get. The lens i am planning is 18-135mm. The main area of photography will be event related (i.e. stage sets, marriage areas) then photography of my aquarium plants and fishes, and wild life photography. Please suggest me a camera and a good lens kit for my requirement.

Welcome to the group!

If you are expecting to shoot weddings and events you may want to do a little more research. The equipment you mentioned is far from ideal and actually probably less than adequate for shooting those things. The aquarium and stuff will be definitely doable, but the weddings? You need fast lenses with high ISO handling camera bodies and entry level cameras and lenses like those you mentioned are a recipe for disaster. Now, for learning and getting ready to shoot weddings and events you will do fine on the gear listed. There is a huge learning curve before you'll be ready to shoot a wedding and if this is to be a stepping stone while you learn? It's a great start.
