You'd upload your image on some site like Photobucket and click on the image icon and paste the URL of the image. The image icon is the third one from the last. The URL of the image is something like http://....

It's been disabled. This being a photography forum, the number of photos uploaded directly to threads, would put stress on speed of the site etc.

You can still use this site, just upload to the user gallery, then link from there.
