I got my first dSLR very recently and since then I'm really enthusiastic about photography! (another newbie i know)

I've been googling around to look for a decent photography community and I found this forum! One that you don't actually have to pay to post!

I aimed at the entry-level ones (obviously ) and got myself the Nikon D5000 body and Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM. It is very heavy, but at least I can go telephoto in an instant .

I might also consider the AF-S 35mm f/1.8 as a fast prime lens. Any suggestions?

Just start shooting.. you'll start knowing what you want . Personally I dont like Sigma. But that is just based on my experience.

Sorry, but what does C&C mean?? I see it all around the forum and all I think of is Command and Conquer... :blushing:

Welcome to the forum, I am a pretty new Nikon user myself and I have the D3000. I plan to get a Sigma lens very soon too but am going the macro way instead. Hope you enjoy it here
