Hi there 
I'm a 37 year old married mum of one, from Adelaide Australia. I've enjoyed photography for a few years now, and have always wanted to get past just using a point and shoot.
My husband surprised me this christmas with a Canon EOS 550D - now I have absolutely no excuse not to do what I've always wanted - take great pictures! Unfortunately I have never used a DSLR (or even an SLR) before, so I really am starting from scratch!
Already I am completely confused and befuzzled by all the terms and techniques I'm reading about, and am yet to even get beyond using full auto or Program Mode!!
I'm hoping that joining a forum such as this one will give me an opportunity to learn lots...so please be prepared for lots of incredibly dumb questions from me!
