Hello from North Carolina

Hello there, I am from Maryland who recently moved here to NC. I have taken pictures since high school but never applied them anywhere. I am now trying to sell them on my Etsy page and want some advice on how to make them better before posting them for sale. I am here on this forum for constructive criticism for someone who has taken pictures for a while... but still has no idea what to look for. I have the GIMP photo editor and have been playing with things here and there but still don't know how to use a lot of the functions on it. What advice can anyone give me.
