Hi fellow photographers! I'm Valerie, I live in Ottawa and I've been doing photography for the last 2 years. I'm also a full time photographer. After doing a few weddings and completing some photography courses I decided to finally register my business, Slash Photography. You can see my website at www.slashphotography.com.

I am looking for some advice from other wedding photographers. Anyone know the best way to upload low res proofs for your client to view and be able to click and choose the ones they like? I've been searching and haven't found any great sites that have what I want. Any advice would help, thanks!

    Welcome aboard Valerie.

There are web sites, like Smugmug that will handle that for you. Even take care of the order fulfillment as well (I think). They usually charge a yearly/monthly fee and/or take commission on your sales though.

I use an application called 'Photocart'. It's an application that I purchases and had loaded onto my web site. It's full of great features and is highly customizable. What I really like about it, is that I don't have to send my clients to another website. Although, I do have to process the orders and fulfill them myself. It's OK for lower volume, but a busy full time photographer might want someone else to handle that stuff so they can be out shooting.

    Hi OP,

I visited your website and noticed that the galleries loaded quite slow. You should consider resizing your photos before uploading them for web viewing. It looks to me like you have a few full size shots:

    http://slashphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/IMG_3496.jpg

    http://slashphotography.com/wp-content/uploads/IMG_0319.jpg

Resizing them to a proper dimension will cut down on filesize and speed up load times (which is quite a big deal now a days) and wordpress has never been a "fast loading" content manager as far as I am concerned.

Also, what lenses do you have for your Rebel XS?

BTW, you can use this site to diagnose load time issues with your website: Pingdom Tools
