Hello from Sunny Southern California

Hi everybody. I'm a brand newbie--this is my second post.

After many years with film SLRs, I switched to digital about five years ago, beginning with a Nikon Coolpix 995 and on up to the DSLRs--first a Canon D60, now a Canon 1D. I use a Nikon Coolpix E4500 for Infrared with a #87 IR filter.

I shoot wildlife with the Canons, especially birds. In IR, I usually shoot landscapes, but also shoot architecture that I find interesting.

I'm looking forward to participating in your forums. I was bowled over to find your Alternative Techniques Forum the other night, and stayed up till the wee hours reading almost every post. :shock: I'm just beginning to delve into Polaroid transfers, so was very happy to find you all.

Also, I just came by a vintage Leica which I'm going to use to try my hand at film IR. Great info on the subject in that forum.

Now I've got to head back to your info forum and pick out a web server to host my pix. Cya later!
