A circular polarizing (CPL) filter can do that, but not a UV filter.I was just told it would stop glare from the white snow/sun and make the picture better...
A lens hood helps prevent lens flare and increases image contrast. A UV filter promotes lens flare, decreases image contrast, and can also reduce image focus shapness if it's a CPOS UV filter. (CPOS = Cheap Piece Of ****)
Photography is entirely about capturing light. I highly recommend starting a study of light fundamentals.
Humans can only see a small sliver of the light spectrum, but the camera and lens don't 'see' they way we humans see. Understanding how the camera and lens 'see' is valuable knowledge for doing photography.
