Hello to all and Merry Christmas

I am new to the forum and have some questions to get answered but that's for a different forum.

I just got my first non-point and shoot camera, a Canon T3. I have a couple of lens that came with it.

I'm not new at taking "snap shoots" but I'm ready to break away from the "Auto" mode and start experimenting. I have already been reading and browsing through some to the information here and have found some great advise and useful information.

Thanks for having the great site here and to all who provide there expertise to beginners such as me.

Welcome to the forum... first thing, Read Your Manual! lol! Get to know what the controls do.. even the stuff you won't be using right away... I've read the manual and most of the stuff you mention already from reading the stickies and other stuff for noobies here. I don't see where that has anything to do with my question. I turn IS off, image clear, turn it on, image not clear. IS is a function of the lens. Maybe I'll just ask Canon.
