Help in Camera and Lens

Hello all,

I am planning to buy the following Camera and Lens:

1. Nikon D90 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) ( for 799$)

2. Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens ( 180$)

3. Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens ( 300$, with a 200$ discount coupon)

All Brand New.

can any one please suggest ? Is this a good deal ? Should i go ahead ? Or should i consider other lens ? I am already at the highest end of my budget ( and no way afford a D7000) ..

The only thing i am thinking is instead of 18-55 should i go with 18-105 for 100$ more ? or is the above package perfect ? Please suggest..Thanks

That's a heck of a deal on the 70-300.

If the seller is reputable, go fot it.

You don't gain anything from the focal length overlap of 70 to 105 mm for $100 more.

Thanks..what do you say about 18-55 and 18-105 ? Is it worth investing another 100$ on 18-105 if i have a 70-300 ?

I would go for the 18-55, the 70-300 is covering focal lengths from 70 to 105, so no need to overlap your lenses. I'm sure you won't miss that 15mm gap. If you do, crop the image Also, image quality is generally better on smaller zoom ranges, but I'm not sure if that applies to those lenses.
