Help needed for D1x lens

Hi

I have just acquired a Nikon D1x camera and I am a bit of a novice (to say the least). It doesnt have any lenses. Can anyone please advise me of the best lenses to buy (used -as I am on a bit of a budget). I dont mind buying 2 or even 3 lenses.
I suspect that I will need a decent telephoto lens say 70-200mm (?) and a general all round lens.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The D1X is a nice camera. I wore out 2 of them. The screwdrive auto focus is FAST.

Thanks for the advice.
I purchased AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED.
Now all i need to do is read the downlaoded manual for the camera-all 236 pages of it !!!

I'd suggest a tamron 28-75mm f2.8 for your all-around lens, and then a set of older manual focus primes like a 20mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, and 300mm f4.5 ed.

The nice thing about the d1x is that it will meter with the old manual focus lenses, only the top end of the nikon line does that.
