Help needed, new to it all.

O.k so i'm just starting out and need all the help i can get. I am hoping to buy a camera and have come down to either a Pentax K20D or a Canon 500D.
Here is my issue. I have no idea about mount types but i've been given a heap of lenses that are K mount. Will these fit either of these cameras? some of the lenses state for Pentax on them even though they are Tamron.

Anyone used one of these cameras that can offer advise?

No, they will not.
Canon can only accept EF mount lenses.

what info exactly do you need?
I'm not joking when i say i'm new to this, i didn't even know there were different lense mounts till 2 days ago

The lenses will be marked ... usually on the lens ring.

examples:

Pentax SMC 100mm 1:1.9
or
Takumar f:2.2 f=55mm

O.k these are the lenses i have been given though not really sure what they are yet.
this is the info written round the ring on them all.

#1 - Tamron zoom 1:6.9 f=200-500mm
#2 - seimar super wide / semi fish-eye lense macro 52-46
#3 - RMC Tokina 17mm 1:3.5
#4 - Koboron MC zoom macro 1:4-5.6 f=60-30mm
#5 - Ricoh focal 28-70mm 1:4 mc macro
#6 - Hoya 72mm skylight (1B) Kiron 28-210mm f/3.8-5.6 macro 1:4
