i have a sony H2 cybershot and was out trying to get a blurred water effect on a local stream using the self timer and a slow 5 second shutter speed and the pics did nothing but come out completely white

has anyone else had the same problem?.... anyone know how to fix it?. can god himself help me?

While I can't answer for the almighty, I can tell you that 5 seconds is WAY too long for a daylight shot without a neutral density filter (or likely a whole stack of them) in front of your lens.

Try this. Go back out again and bracket your shots. Shoot 5 seconds, 4, 3, 2, 1, etc all the way down to 1/60th. Then look at the shots. You will see what is going on, where the sweet spot is.
