Outstanding series.

Beautiful and sharp on the first four. Great set.

If you wouldn't mind too much....

What was the settings and such for these?
Did you spot meter for the AF?
Guessing these were not shot with a 50mm lens either...:)

We get a few of those big fellas around here, but I can never seem to catch them landing, or for that matter taking off! They just like to walk off and search for another easy meal of fish!! So very nicely captured!!

LP what are you doing here? I thought you would busy keeping people in you basement.

Nice pics by the way!

A quick story if I may............. I'm always missing the good, close shots on these beauties. Out snapping yesterday, I was ready to head home, stopped at the last little lake (pond) before leaving the refuge. As I pulled up to the near shore, on the small parking lot, I noticed movement off my left eye. As I slowly turned my head, it began to fill my eyes............. a HUGE heron just lifting off! I had scared him, he was that close!! I'm like eff me!! Are you effing kidding me??!!!!! I watched as he slowly flapped away, about 2" inches off the water, to the far side shore. Just, damn! Another one that got away!!!

These are absolutely gorgeous! I especially love 2, 3 & 4. Very well done.

cheers everyone

Metering was partial
AF was set to AI Servo
lens was 500mm + a 1.4x converter

I've told you many times not to mention the people in my basement
