Hello all...I'm Alissa. I've always been interested in photography and won some contests waaaaaaaaaaaay back in high school. Took one class in college.

Now, I'm rediscovering my love for photography. I just bought myself a Nikon D60. I'm super excited. I'm just a little overwhelmed because I know the basics of photography (rule of thirds, f-stop, aperture) and a bit about Photoshop. But, I'm really looking to take my amateur looking Photos to the next level...

It seems like there is soooo much info out there. Does anyone have a good recommendation on where to start?

Hi, and welcome to TPF. Sounds like you're more than just a beginner, with your level of knowledge, and your contest wins (which would indicate you have a good eye as well). I guess one suggestion would be that if you see a pic posted that you like, ask the poster how they achieved the look.
