Hey there,

I am a just married young woman from Johannesburg, South Africa.

I have always had a love for photography, but have never really made anything of it. After my wedding, and seeing my happiness captured in the photo's from friends, family and our photographer, I have decided to take it more seriously and perhaps make a career out of it.

There are 3 main types of photography done for pay:
Retail
Commercial
Editorial

In general:
Of the 3 commercial pays the best, but is also the hardest to make into a successful business.
Retail pays next best but is a market segment that is saturated with photographers.
Most editorial staff jobs disappeared as digital camera sales increased. Some photographers make a living doing freelance editorial photography.
