Hiding Out in the Open

I walked right up on this guy and shot from no farther away than 20 feet. This is full frame at 200mm. He was literally so well mixed in with his background, I hardly even saw him until I hit the light just right...amazing adaptation to one's environment.

Your focus is perfect, but could you ask him to move his head left or right to get that distracting stalk out from in front of his right eye?

Seriously, tho- I do SO respect shooters like bullD who get up off their posteriors and walk out into the field and do the actual work to collect images!

Surprisingly, he stood stock still for almost a full minute before he took off through the thick undergrowth, too fast for me to even get my lens leveled.
