I like the picture, but I think its a little too bright in certain areas.

Mo has a good point of the light to darkness in this picture. Was this shot originally in color and PS'd to B&W? This could be a reason. If you have PS then you might want to just play with the auto levels, auto color options just to see what occurs. I dig the composition though because of the framing. The eye is immediately drawn to the raccoon carcass, but then flanked by the other side by gravel which ultimately draws your eye to the center. Makes the viewer wonder what those shadows mean to the scheme of the photo. Like it.
