Female Hooded Oriole, San Gabriel Valley, California

Usually they are more dull with some grey, but she was facing the sun and had her feathers ruffled, which seemed to hide the grey.

I think of her pose as somewhat regal.

Can you tell that I've cloned out a power line? Does the residual catch your eye?

Constructive criticism encouraged.

Thanks Designer...much appreciated.

Funny, I'm not used to seeing colorful birds in Southern California, but this lady and her mate have moved into my neighborhood. I've been seeing quite a bit of them lately.

Nice (with or without power lines). This must be a Western bird because I've never seen one around here.

I couldn't tell where the line was, but I consider them sort of a natural background element like trees, so I never remove them.

That is a really great shot good job!
If they are nesting in you area, you will have to get some more shots of them! :)
