Time to get rolling on the grand opening. But I'm pretty much clueless...

My thoughts:

Open house throughout the day 10-4pm
Open to the public, media, friends, family, everyone
Booking special that day only for clients - book that day and receive X% off your session
Gift bags for everyone with coupons for some of my favorite local vendors
Draw for a free session

Grand Opening Party 7-9pm
Wine, appies, music, draws

Too much, not enough?

Uh....it kind of depends on where you are.

What works in Waterloo, Iowa, won't work so good in Carmel, California.

In small town Salmon Arm BC - population 15,000 and ultra conservative

Sounds good to me.. but make sure your studio is ready. First impression is the most important thing I think. Invite all of your past clients.

It will be ready in 2 weeks. And good thinking about the poast clients - for many its time for another shoot :)

Sounds like a great idea. I recall being to a seminar where one of the speakers talked about relocating their studio to a new (small) town and how they had a big 'grand opening' party. Make sure to get the local media involved, maybe put adds in the local paper etc.
