I bought my first cam around feb. so I am still pretty noob but I think I am making progress. One thing that I've been wanting to do but I can't figure out is how to take a picture of cloudy night sky without using slow shutter so you don't get the blurry cloud effect. Is this even possible?

Also, since I am new here is my flickr page: Flickr: XI M IX's Photostream

High Iso
Large f-stop
And a slower-than-fast shutter speed.

You can use a tripod and a shutter speed of a couple seconds or maybe even half a second and get a nice night-sky (no, not stars) if you have the moon shining to atleast provide light to the clouds. If the moon is bright enough, you could easily get away with a faster shutter-speed and lower iso/f-stop... But those are the 2 settings you are going to be wanting to look at increasing if you don't want a long shutter-speed.
