Hey experts.... I recently have been browsing portfolios online and have seen a lot of pictures of children in studio's and sitting on a reflective surface. I love the pictures but I don't know exactly how or what to use! I am thinking it may be plexiglass but I called and priced it and I don't want to buy a sheet of it if it's not plexiglass... Any idease? Suggestions? Tina

It's glass with a sheet of paper up close. Plexiglass will scratch in about ten seconds of exposure to a child.

does anyone have any experience or tips on shooting this kind of shot? I am wondering how best to position my lights I just want to shoot a simple shot of my daughter and her bare butt sitting on the glass, butt to me and I want a really cool reflection. I will start playing with it and see what I can do!

Two lights at 45 degrees, low to the ground and a plain backdrop which does not have any detail which can be reflected by the floor would probably work.
