How goes it?

Hi guys,

Got a late start on photography, which is something I was always interested in as a broke kid, so I mostly experimented with pinhole stuff to make up for a lack of equipment. I've finally decided to buy a nice 35mm SLR and get serious. I'm looking forward to learning a lot here and entering the monthly photo challenges (if I get my film developed and scanned in time). I am a nerd with a good grasp of photographic theory, but little to no practice.

I'm currently shooting with a Canon AV-1 I bought on impulse knowing it wasn't really what I wanted (it's not bad at all, just has a fairly limited feature set), and a Yashica-D borrowed from my photographer friend (who's too busy with digital to miss one member of her film collection). I'm planning to get myself a Nikon FE very soon. I'm not a fan of the Canon's lack of a full manual mode, or it's lack of DOF preview. I'm also planning to get into developing my own B&W film, and prints (enlargers seem to be a steal these days).

Late warning: I tend to ramble. Any other Mississauga folks on here?
