Hey, guys! My Canon camera has been formatted by my mom by chance. All my stored photos are lost for that mistaken formatting process. But, some of these disappeared photos are really useful and precious. How can I get them all back?
Thank you for your help!

I'm pretty sure recovery is possible, but I don't know a lot about it.

To get a response from someone who might know more about it, though, you might not want to post in the "cell phone/camera phone" section if you're asking about a Canon camera...

I had a memory card that glitches a few times on me and lost all of my images. The hubby ran it through a recovery program online and was able to get them all back, I personally do not remember what program he used but I would google memory card recovery and go from there. Doubt your camera is at fault here.

Search the forum for recover photos and you will find plenty of threads about what you want to do.

Yes, it is possible for you to restore your camera photos back.

1). Stop using this camera immediately in case that any newly taken photo will overwrite your lost photos stored on the same memory card.

2). Plunge this camera to a PC and begin to get back your wanted photos back. As I know, in your case, some professional camera card data recovery tools like Recuva, 4Card Recovery, iCare Data Recovery Free and PhotoRec, etc, can help you a lot.

Always select a right one for your card and use it to scan your camera card deeply.

3). Save and back up all restored data on a PC drive or other places, in case of data loss.

Note: Make data backups all the time.

Since this question gets asked at least once a week, why not create a sticky for it and direct all new threads to it?

Stop using it now. Or you will overwrite more underlying data which may otherwise be recoverable.

Connect the SD card to your PC and try some recovery software.

Do not connect the camera to the PC over USB, use a card reader. Most canon bodies use the MTP protocol not the USB Mass Storage one, which doesnt do raw block level access, so file recovery tools wont work unless you use a reader.
