How would you light this..or would you?

Yeah...I think the "proper way" to handle dim-light scenarios varies from situation to situation. I go back and forth of this myself, quite often. If you get the right "moments", the way the pictures are illuminated is not all that critical. If it's just utterly boring, dull stuff over and over, then making nice, well-lighted exposures can help I think. Like, on a gig with 458-diplomas-being-handed-out-shots...I wanna see those well-lighted,well-focused, stop-motion,bright, meaning FLASH. On candid party coverage, or wedding reception, I want to see emotions, and good situations, so I do not care "how" the 'tog has lighted the scenes...I just wanna' see good emotions, good timing, even if it's a bit blurry because the photog went with the settings of lens f/stop wide-open, and 1/20th shutter at ISO 4,000.
