Long time lurker, first time poster. :mrgreen:

I just purchased my first dSLR kit; it's the Nikon D5000 with the Nikor 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. Maybe not the very best, but for the money and my skill level (lol), I'm alright for now.

I just moved to a new city, so I'm unfamiliar with what to photograph around here. Mostly what I've been shooting so far are my and my family's pets... and some flowers. :er:

I have been playing with the camera a lot since I got it. I have so much to learn. While the settings are obviously very important, I have no eye for composition, so I am interested in learning a lot about that!
