WASHINGTON: Hewlett Packard Company is recalling nearly 679,000 digital cameras worldwide as it fears of chances of batteries in these cameras overheating when connected to an AC adapter or docking station, resulting in possible fire.
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a U.S. regulator, said Tuesday the company is recalling its Photosmart R707 digital cameras after receiving a report of a camera catching fire. The accident has caused no injuries, the commission said.
The model has been in the market since August 2004 and is priced between $250 and $400.
