And that is for the Sport version, that is the upscale build. Just guessing but the Contemporary version should come in with a price similar to the Tamron. And they also have the Canon version available for pre order, both with expected ship dates in October. I just spent all my play money so no new lenses for me this year, but i will be keeping a close eye on the reviews !!!!

Interesting, the first time I looked at the link in post 16 I thought it showed the S version for $1999 but it actually shows the C version available for pre order at $1999, that is a good deal more money than the Tamron. I'd love to see the two side by side.
