There is a product called Visine which is widely used to get the red out. For serious portraits, it is worth using.

Is she running for class president that she needs that serious a portrait. Sometimes it's JUST for fun.

And I guess I was an amatuer photographer people threw money at because they felt sorry for me, but I never told a customer to change her makeup of fix her eyes in my thirty (very) odd years of shooting pictures. But then I'm not a perfectionist.

I like the shots just fine as they are and I bet her mother (you maybe) would hang them on the wall even if you didn't shoot them.

Thanks for the comments. I really am trying to improve on my portraits so I don't mind the advise. However, I think I will choose to use post processing over visine....

these are nice! don't be afraid to show them! one thing that might help you in the future is to not have that spot of light on the rim of the had in the first, so its not blown out.
