I prefer the tones in the b/w, but the reflection in that one almost makes it look like you tried to PS it transparent?
Because of that, I'd have to go with #1.

No PS trickery. Only conversion, levels and curves. It's a long exposure where I snatch the lighter away, giving a 'see through affect'. I like it because it's a kind of sort of optical illusion. You get the reflection and also the wood grain going right through the lighter as well. But the I also really like the soft colors in #1............. So does that change your opinion?

I think I like the BW better...............................I still don't know.

I prefer the 1st one the colour, as the flame jst looks like a white blop in the blk + white one and you can see the extent of the flame and the texture to it.
