Until yesterday that our most famous local native Brown Trout stream also had Carp until I photographed

this one rising to the surface. They must play hell on all those 8X tippets out there

I grew up in Western New York on Lake Erie, where the carp get huge. There used to be smokehouses along the lake that specialized in smoking carp with all sorts of "secret" rubs/woods. Downright tasty, they were.

I was kayaking on the Susquehanna and had something so huge it shot out of the shore weeds and actually lifted me a bit as it went under me. Had to be either a carp or possibly a Muskie. They get pretty big in the river also.
