Not to be a nay-sayer...but not a good chance of getting really usable pictures. Most gyms (unless they're a major NCAA division) have pretty poor lighting for their sports. Unless you're shooting at 2.8 or larger aperture it's going to be tough (with that body). You're going to need to be at *LEAST* at 1/250 and most likely 1/500 (volleyball players move quickly unless you're taking shots of them standing still...which makes for a boring shot).

I'm guessing you'll need to be at ISO3200 the entire time to achieve a fast enough shutter speed, but you'll have to experiment when you get there. Just remember: it's better to have noise than to have blur.
