Hi all, I developed a few rolls of Ilford 400 delta today/yesterday. My negs looked nicely exposed to the eye, but the scans showed very low contrast and lots of grain:

I developed according to the guidelines, so 5:30 mins. I have looked in delta 400 galleries which show a lot less grain on the images than mine. I do not have enough marbles yet to get rid of the air in the bottle, which is 3 weeks old, but not discoloured.

I did manage to save the image by digital trickery although this is not ideal:

Any ideas on what is going on??

Thanks

Paul

The Ilfosol data sheet shows 5:30 min for 200 ISO Delta 400 @ 1+9 dilution - 20 degrees.

Concentrated solution shelf life of 4 months with half tight capped bottle.

I assume you are referring to the concentrated (not working) solution has been kept for 3 weeks ?
Also the negs show uneven development. How did you agitate the tank ?

Looks to me as if the film was fogged at some point prior to the fixer solution...

Hi, yep I am referring to the concentrated solution., I agitated for the 1st 30 secs then the last 10 secs of each minute.
