If you could build the perfect begginner bag, what would it include?

I think I have made my decision as far as what gear I am going to buy. I will be shooting a little of everything to be honest, my kids playing sports, nature and wildlife, portraits all just for fun. I just want a good setup, I'm not looking for professional gear, but want glass that will last a while as I become better. I know I will one day want to up-grade everything but don't want to have to upgrade in 6 months. So, how does this sound?

Canon 30d
18-135mm lens
Canon 50mm

What else do you think I would need? Lens hoods, external flash,I have a tripod, memory cards of course, anything else?

If you could build the perfect begginner bag using the Canon 30d and not spending more than 1k, what would it include?

Id include a nice big zoom lens, somthing like a 75-300mm you can pick some up quite cheap

Oh wait, under $1000. Canon 70-200 f/4, Kit lens, and a fast prime. 50 f/1.4 or a wider one.
