Im new!

Horray! New to the forum, excited about learning. My photography needs a lot of work, and it is getting better as I get more experience. My biggest interest is the business aspect of photography. Im trying to get into surf photography. If anyone knows how to break into that industry, I am all ears. So far, I have had limited success going down to the beach and telling people I got some good shots of them, one contact at a surf magazine/ website, but no photos used. Zero luck with contacting sponsors of events, and zero luck trying to contact companies who sponsor riders (Vans, Billabong, Board companies, etc.).

Advice very welcome

Currently shooting with a Nikon D7100, Sigma 150-500 lens.

The best way to get business is to be able to show potential clients and businesses a good quality portfolio and price list comparable to the quality of your work.

A solid business plan is probably a good idea as well.
