There simply is no good way to generalize about this one. "The largest" remaining U.S. film maker, for example, has been known to make the film in the U.S. and then ship it overseas and sell it for less than it sells for here. Then some agressive business man will import it and sell it at a lower price than the U.S. marketed stuff. Mybe some of it is made overseas, too, and sold under the same name.
Many European film makers make excellent products, e,g, Ilford. The Czechs and the Germans have done quite well, too.
Fuji may end up the only supplier of film by default someday, maybe even sooner than we are ready for. I like some Fuji films, a lot.
