In love with two older Nikon AF lenses!

I picked up a Nikon 50mm F1.8D for $66.00 total, with warranty from Roberts Camera. Boom!

Just added the 24mm f/2.8D and 85mm f/1.4D to use on the D800e. The 85mm was picked up from an ex-D850 owner that moved to the Z7 as the Z cameras don't have a focus motor. I have been very happy with the compact size of this lens combo.

I noticed the phenomenon that Derrel noted, when taking this shot using a D200 with a 60mm f/2.8G lens the focus was silent and I was not sure if the camera had even tried to focus, with the D lenses you know when the camera is focusing as you hear it.

Wonderful trio. I absolutely love my 35. Another rarely talked about gem is the 135 f2.8 AI-s. I've always wanted a 180.

I scored with the 180. I think I got it for $380.00 and it's in pretty good shape.
I don't miss my former 70-200 at all.

The 35/2 and 85/1.4 or /1.8 are on my short list.

BTW, I don’t think the Z6/7 are upgrades to your DF.

Those YELLOW rear caps..I have not seen those before!

Well, the AF 24mm f2.8 isnt exactly awful, but the modern AF-S 24mm f1.8 is actually epic, a true masterpiece from Nikon.

Nikon btw introduced the optical formula of the AF 24mm f2.8 first in 1977, when they switched to AI, and still sells them new even today, more than 40 years later. Thats pretty impressive, possibly a record.
