In search of

A while back I ran across a thread where someone mentioned a app called Merlin to help identify birds ( great app ) now I in search of an app or something to help identify flower,plants and the likes.

Is there such a thing ?

I've had good luck in the past with an app called LeafSnap, although it is far from perfect. It identifies trees by the shape of the leaf, so it works best if you pull off a leaf and photograph it on a white background, like a sheet of paper. It only does trees though, no shrubs, flowers, etc.

Thanks Adam, In this reserve we walked, if you are caught picking a flower or any portion of it it's a $1000.00 fine per plant..........me thinks I'd be broke by trails end.
