Interpreting a corn field

I really like both of these. The DOF in each one does a good job of isolating the subject, and the out of focus areas lend a painterly appearance to these images. Of the two images, I am partial to the second one because of the balance between the green background and the flowers. Could you give a little more information about how these were taken?

Very nice; not sure that the title works (I get NO sense of a cornfield) BUT, I really like these images. Well captured.
