still learning, i'd like to ask the pro's how close to b&w IR this is. i've been searching the internet and viewing all sorts of images and trying to figure out PS processes that closely resemble them. i know green foliage is crucial, so i chose this image to play with. i'm not sure how the human element should look but the grass looks close i think. thanks in advance for any tips you may have.

hmmm..... It looks like a B&W to me, contrast played with some. Admittedly you have whitened out the grass, but the background foliage is still near black. It doesn't resemble a true IR.

thanks in advance for any tips you may have.
Buy some IR film! Don't forget the red filter.

Like the photo Jon, and I don't know much about getting a true IR result, but the cloest I've found was a technique in one of Scott Kelby's books, using a channel mixer layer, check monochrome and then use 160, 190, -200, and then move the constant to the left until it fits the shot.

It does not look IR to me either.

But the crop is beautiful!!

just wait....i'm gonna post an IR shot eventually!!!!!! meh!
