The wood in the table was once alive.
The cotton in the curtains was once alive.
The wheat that makes up the flour was once alive.
Whatever the green stuff is outside is alive.
The clay that makes up the bowl is made from stuff that was once alive.
Heck... even the dye on the fake apples is most likely organic in origin.
 
Fruit is generally pretty still, real or fake.

Yes, I agree, it's as if my eye doesn't know what to look at, when I try to lock on to the apples the superbright window is incredibly distracting and vice versa. Crisp image, good technique, but in terms of image itself I find the window too distracting
 
Yes, maybe the window needs to be "flesh out" with some texture, otherwise the corner with apples has very nice, flemish like color palette.
