This is a scan straight from the negative at 4800 DPI, reduced 1/2. This is Ilford Delta 400 developed in D76 as directed. The shot is f/11 at 1/60 sec, with a 200 w/s head with a 3" snoot about 3 ft above the subject.

Maybe it's wishful thinking about my own work, but am I imagining things, thinking that this film is just gorgeous? Not talking about the composition or my skill, etc, (which I was kind of happy with) but with the ... struggling for words ... character of the image? There's just something different about this stuff. But like I said maybe its my own thought process and wanting to feel like I've made some kind of breakthrough.

Film is simply not that "mechanical" like digital. It has a latitude, a bit unpredictable behavior, as we still don't really know, why this thing works at all. It's magic...
