I need to shoot some short interview like videos indoors with not so best lighting conditions. I currently have Nikon D5100 and get decent results but I'm considering upgrading to Nikon D5300 if the video quality is noticeably better?

Also an option is Canon EOS M which is much cheaper than Nikon D5300 but is newer than 5100 and might have a better video?

Or any other suggestions for best quality video in price range of Nikon D5300? I also need this to be DSLR camera, not video camcorder.

Both the d3300 and the d5300 are excellent for video. To notice any real difference in your videos you really need good post processing software.

I wouldn't upgrade just for these interviews, as your D5100 can meet your described needs, for sure, very very well.
But beyond this video shooting, no doubt at all it is worthy the upgrade from the D5100 to the D5300, overall. But if you're serious about upgrading, look at the D7100 or the D610 as well.
