ISO problem

I do not know what is wrong. Did my camera is bad?. I have Canon T1i. I manual I have set for ISO100 and photos are OK, but if I got for 400 or more, the noises are unbearable. I had Digital Rebel XT and had no noise problems up to 800. Look to me that I degraded in cameras.
Is my sensor going bad? Thanks.

Post some RAW images so people here can take a look at what you are talking about.

I'm not familiar with Canon products, but not all sensors are built the same. Some handle high ISOs better than others.
