Its a dieing fern :(

Its also my first ever 'MACRO' shot...its almost 1:1, its shot with a 75mm-300mm telephoto tho...from 5 feet away....tear me a new one!
This was taken outside on a snowy day (had snowed in the morning only snow left on the grass). Was overcast and wet, but i like how the lighting turned out, i feel anything more would contradicted the state this fern is in.

I think if you were trying to convey the sense of sadness and death, you did it... Its kind or depressing, i feel bad for the poor little plant!

I agree with Scott, it's not a happy plant . Also, much of it seems out of focus and maybe a little dark.

And for my first macro shot im glad i managed to capture the mood, next step is to pull off the technical aspects!
