I finally finished the fish tank stand I made my girl friend for Christmas. I brought it to her this weekend. It holds a 40 gallon tank. I built the frame out of 1 1/4" steel angle iron and encased it in wood. Much better than the bureau she had it on that was collapsing under the weight!
Here it is!

Needs fish

Looks awesome! Very nice work, I wish you were closer so you could make me one :D

Very beautiful! You are very talented.

Gorgeous! Now she can hide all the tank food and cleaners below. I want to see an updated pic with some more fish and decor in it. Is this a fresh water or salt water tank?

Whats up with the chain from shelf to shelf?

Looks like an awesome stand. Keeping fish is my other hobby:)

I agree, very nice craftsmanship. You probably should consider making them to sell.

Very nice work indeed. She should be proud. Careful though... I feel a long "honey-dew" list being compiled for all her carpentry/handy-man needs. :) "Honey, do this.... "

Haha! I've already been (jokingly) requested to refinish their bathroom since I just did mine by myself.

Beautiful work, I can't make doors match that closely even with the adjustment screws on prefabs. Really really nice. It's great to have a piece (or more) to look at for all time knowing you crafted it.
