Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
So i'm taking a beginners photography class that started a few weeks ago. We've mostly been discussing the parts of the camera, turned in some old photos to learn how we could improve it if we could go back and re-take it. This is giving everyone enough time to get a camera. I FINALLY saved enough and got to order the NIKON D5000 . I could've got a simple point and shoot, but figured since the next class requires a dslr camera, I would be better off getting it now (while i had the cash to do so) and using the extra time to practice using it and getting to know all it's features - which was a great idea according to the professor.

It still hasn't arrived, so it's like the longest shipping ever!!!! It should arrive tomorrow, but I think the EXCITEMENT is what's causing the shipping to take it's sweet time . Mean while, we've gotten to the point where our first assignment is due this Saturday. The assignment is to take 30 pictures of a tree (with no other directions included). I am going to be wise and assume that we are doing this to practice using the camera with the different settings and other such things we have been going over.....

I found a tree and yet no camera!!! Mean while my days are numbered. I am pretty sure I know how I'll take the pictures, and will be taking way more then 30 and picking out the best 30. But my question is, should I divide the picture into 3 shoots? As in 1 set of 10 in the morning, a 2nd set in the afternoon, and the last set in the evening.

How you compose, take and present your 30 shots is, I suspect, partly what the lecture wants to see from you; getting an idea of your creativity and diversity with a single subject as well as getting an idea of how well you've taken in key parts of the lessons with regard to controlling your camera and lens.

This is exactly what I was trying to say, yet I just figured that separating the 30pics into 3shoots throughout the day would really help me practice with ISO settings since the sun light would be changing. Plus in the mornings (extremely early) we get some really nice fog that I would like to capture. Thing is, it's wednesday and according to the tracking number for the package my camera is in, the estimated delivery date is tomorrow, when it should have been last Monday. According to the location I ordered it from, the extra cash I sent to have it over nighted meant that I was made as a priority for them to ship out next day and not their usual 3-5 days. So in the end, it was all a misunderstanding in communication that has been resolved and I'll be getting my extra money back.

This does cause a problem with the assignment which is due Saturday morning. If the package arrives tomorrow, I won't know for sure what time it will arrive, more then likely giving me less than 24hrs to take 30shots of the same tree without having ever used the camera before and then get them developed in time for class. I can honestly say that this will be a serious challenge....

As of today, sunrise in Tennessee begins at 6:35am. I'd start setting up at 6:00am

As of today, sunset in Tennessee begins at 6:44pm. I'd start setting up at 6:00pm

New moon at 6:09am on the 27th.

These are things to consider. Afternoon times will be blahhhhhh.

Closeups, long shots, shadows, with and without the human element, but lighting is paramount.
